Mrs. Barbara Hinson Mauldin

Mrs. Barbara Hinson Mauldin, 79, of Fayetteville, passed away Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015, in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Mrs. Mauldin was born Jan. 3, 1936, in Stanly County, to the late Mr. Ernest Graham Hinson and Mrs. Bertha Wilhoit Hinson.

Barbara worked as a nurse practitioner at Medical Drive OB/Gyn for many years. She has helped deliver many babies of Cumberland County and cared for the families. We have all been truly blessed to have her in our lives.  

She was preceded in death by her husband, Darrell W. Mauldin and a son-in-law, Rodney Buhrman of Fayetteville.

She is survived by her four daughters, Theresa Buhrman of Fayetteville, Julie Mauldin of Fayetteville, Anita Dearborn of Fayetteville, and Marla Arnette and husband Brian of Fayetteville; four grandchildren, Heather Simpson and husband Josh of Fayetteville,  Laurel Long and husband Brandon of Fayetteville, Brittany Tyner of Salisbury, and Scooter Buhrman of Fayetteville; a great-grandchild, Lauren Ashley Simpson; a brother, Gene Hinson of Albemarle; a sister, Brenda Hinson Autry of Fayetteville.

The family will receive friends on Monday, Feb. 2, 2015, at Camp Ground United Methodist Church from 9 to 10:30 a.m. The funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m. in the church sanctuary, with the Rev. Dr. Thomas Greener officiating. Burial will follow in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake.
