Mrs. Anne Greene

Mrs. Anne Holmes Topping Greene, 66, of Fayetteville, passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2015, at her residence, in the presence of her family.

She was born on March 1, 1949, to Mr. Thomas Rudolph Topping and the late Edith Holmes Sillery Ferrell, in Oxford, NC.

While earning her Master’s Degree in psychology, she worked with the Cumberland County DSS for 28.5 years.   Anne was an instructor and program coordinator for 16 years at Fayetteville Technical Community College.  

She is survived by her husband, Earl “Glenn” Greene, Jr.; daughters, Mary-Anne Holmes Greene and husband Joseph Scott Greene of Fayetteville, Elizabeth Greene McCorquodale and husband Wayman Douglas McCorquodale of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Edward Glenn Greene and Emma Holmes Greene; sisters, Charlotte Turner and husband Morrie of Hope Mills, Gloria Trotter and husband Leon of Charlotte; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dr. Ben Greene and Dianne of Southern Pines, NC.

A memorial service officiated by Dr. Robbie Byrd, is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on Monday, December 14, 2015, at Snyder Memorial Baptist Church Chapel.  The family will receive friends in the gathering hall from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. prior to services.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to The Fayetteville Family Life Center 805 Westmont Drive, Fayetteville, NC 28305.
