Mrs. Ann McGill Kirkman

Mrs. Ann Neil McGill Kirkman, beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away Saturday, September 21, 2013 surrounded by her family. She was born on May 18, 1926 in Lumberton, NC to Sarah and Donald McGill.  She graduated Flora McDonald College.


Ann enjoyed playing bridge, gardening with the Pine Needles Garden Club and worshipping at Haymount United Methodist Church.


She was preceded in death by her husband and high school sweetheart, Charles H Kirkman, an attorney in Fayetteville, brother Jack McGill of Fairmont, and her sisters Roberta Peterson of Durham and Doris Kisley of Wilkesboro.  She is survived by her son Charles Kirkman, Jr and wife Susan of Lawrenceville, Georgia, daughter Karen Fitzpatrick and husband Tim of Fayetteville and grandchildren Timothy, Danny, Caitlin and Channing.


A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 28 at 11:30 a.m. at Haymount United Methodist Church, 1700 Fort Bragg Road, Fayetteville with visitation before the service starting at 10:00 a.m. in the Commons Room at the church .  Private burial to follow.


Memorial donations are requested in lieu of flower to Haymount United Methodist Church.


The family extends its sincere appreciation to her medical team, the staff and congregation of Haymount Church, the entire staff at The Carolina Inn, and her Tuesday bridge club for your care and support.
