Mrs. Alice Ophelia McQueen McPhail, 83, of Hope Mills, NC, passed away on Monday, January 5, 2015, at Highland House of Fayetteville, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Washington, DC on July 28, 1931, to the late Walter Cleveland McQueen and Sallie Mae Thaggard McQueen.
She was a member of Hope Mills Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 52 years U.S. Army Ret. SGM Doy Keith McPhail.
She is survived by one son Doy McPhail, Jr.; four daughters Marie Houseworth, and husband George, Susan Stone, and husband Ron, Ann Thompson, and husband Paul, and Wendy McPhail; five grandchildren Doy III, Dawn, Deanna, Nick, and Kymet; and five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 10, 2014 from 11:45 a.m. until 12:45 at Sullivan's Highland Funeral Service. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Sullivan's Highland Funeral Service with Rev. Archie Barringer officiating. Private burial will be at Gilmont Cemetery in Hope Mills, NC.
