Thomas C. OâConnor passed away on Friday, April 22, 2016 at the age of 80 in Fayetteville, NC. Born and raised in New York City, he raised his family in Scituate Ma, and in retirement moved to Wilmington, NC and most recently to Fayetteville, NC.
He was predeceased by his wife, Nancy Reid OâConnor, and was the beloved father of Jennifer OâConnor-Parmelee (Craig) of Weybridge, England and Ted OâConnor (Mary Amanda Reinauer) of Washington DC as well as his step-children Matt Reid (Wendy) of New Bern, NC and Anna Reid Smith Wall (Tom) of Greensboro, NC and his six grandchildren, Maeve and Matthew Parmelee, Suzanna and John Reid and Marley and Sarah Smith.
In addition to a long and successful career in the municipal bond business, Tomâs free time was spent either volunteering or playing golf. He was elected to a number of professional and civic boards throughout his life, continually volunteered within his community and in his retirement focused his volunteer efforts on his church and as a museum docent.
The family would like to extend its most sincere thanks and gratitude to the staffs at Community Home Care and Hospice and The Carolina Inn, and to the sitters for their love and dedication to Tom at his end of life. In addition the family will be forever grateful to dear friend Beth OâLeary and the congregation of St. Patrickâs, whose love, support and prayers provided great comfort to Tom and his family.

A Vigil Service for remembrance and eulogies will be held on Thursday, April 28th at 10:00 am in the Family Room to the right of the vestibule, followed immediately by an 11:00am funeral mass at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Fayetteville. All are welcome to attend both.
