Mr. Stephen Douglas Largent

Mr. Stephen Douglas Largent, 64, of Fayetteville, NC, passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2015, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on March 27, 1950, in Riverside, CA, to the late William Dayton Largent and Mary Carolyn Murray Largent.
Steve settled in Fayetteville, NC during high school and loved world travel, opera, and New York City.  He successfully turned a moonlighting business into what was known as Largent Consulting Engineers, PA.

He is survived by his loving wife Virginia Largent, of Fayetteville, NC; one daughter Stacey Wright and husband Tim, of Chapel Hill, NC; one son Doug Largent and wife Nancy, of Carrboro, NC; three grandchildren,  Jessica Largent, of Carrboro, NC, David Wright  and James Wright, both of Chapel Hill, NC; mother of his children Mary Ann Padgett Largent, of Chapel Hill, NC; one brother William "Chip" Dayton Largent and wife Dian of Ohio; two step-sons Kenneth Alex Pidgeon and wife Sherry and Scott Mitchell Pidgeon and wife Kimberly, all of Essex Junction, VT; three step-grandchildren Elizabeth Pidgeon, Thomas Pidgeon, and Megan Pidgeon, all of Essex Junction, VT; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 21, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at Northwood Temple.  A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Dr. John Hedgepeth officiating.
