Mr. Samuel J. Saxton, Sr., passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2015, in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
He was born in Muskegon, MI, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Gearry and Anna Rita Saxton.
Mr. Saxton proudly served his country as an Army Medic during the Vietnam Conflict, where he earned numerous commendations. After his time in the Army, he began working at Goodyear, where he eventually retired.
He is survived by his son, Samuel Saxton, Jr. and his wife Janet of Fayetteville; and sister, Bonnie Milks.
The family will receive friends on Monday, March 16, 2015 from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Sullivanâs Highland Funeral Service. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel. Burial will follow in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery with military honors.
