Mr. Richard Louis Fisher

Richard Louis Fisher, 86, of Fayetteville, passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2013, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

He was born on January 3, 1927, in Fayette County, PA, to the late Elizabeth Anne Ferro Fisher and Charles E. Fisher.

He was a U.S. Army WWII Veteran.  

Richard Joined the Fayetteville Kiwanis Club in 1980, was a Distinguished  President, The Terrific Kids Chairman for 12 years and a Kiwanian for 33 years.  He was a Distinguished Lt. Governor for Division 11 of the Carolinas District of Kiwanis for the year 1996 – 1997.  He was The Terrific Kids Chairman for Division 11 of the Carolinas District of Kiwanis for the years of 1999-2000 and 2000-2001.  He became a lifetime member of Kiwanis International on January 30, 2002.  

He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church where he was a 4th Degree with the Knights of Columbus active for over 33 years.  

He was also the owner of Select Mold Service, Inc. of Fayetteville, NC for 37 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret "Peggy" Fisher; one son  Richard "Rick" Fisher, Jr.; and  one daughter Margaret "Peggy" Banks.

He is survived by wife Veronica Fisher of the home, a daughter Mary Blaylock, a grandson Michael Roller, a nephew Mike Karpel, and sister-in-law Patricia Taylor,  all of Fayetteville, NC.

A rosary will be held on Friday, August 30, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. at Sullivan's Highland Funeral Service, and Crematory.  The family will receive friends on Friday, August 30, 2013 from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 31, 2013, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, with Father Jack Kelly officiating.  Entombment will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park Mausoleum.
