Richard Anthony Guarino, 92, formerly of Mineola, NY but most recently of Calabash, NC, passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2016, at the North Carolina State Veterans Home in Fayetteville.
He was born in Rockville Centre, NY on May 28, 1924, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Alfredo and Marguerite Guarino.
Dick proudly served in the Navy during WWII. After being discharged from the Navy, he worked 33 years with Northrop Grumman as an Aerospace Technician. The highlight of his career was working on the Lunar Module and Space Shuttles. He was a member of the V.F.W. (Calabash), Knights of Columbus (North Myrtle Beach), and a former Scout Master of Troup 250 in Mineola, NY.
Dick is survived by his wife of 68 years, Helen; daughter, Nancy Beck; sons, Ken Guarino and wife, Faun, Rich Guarino and wife, Alma; granddaughter, Antje; grandsons, Ian, Timothy, and Matt; sister, Catherine âKimâ Arzberger.
A memorial service will be planned for a later date.
