Lawrence A. West, 91, of Fayetteville, passed away on Monday, Dec. 15, 2014, in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
He was born March 23, 1932, in Cumberland County, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Ammie and Maggie West.
During World War II he proudly served in the Army, 101st Airborne Division. He later worked as a rental agent for West Rentals, where he was a co-owner.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Vera of Fayetteville; and one brother, James E. West of Charleston, S.C.
A celebration of life ceremony will be conducted in the chapel of Sullivan's Highland Funeral Service & Crematory in Fayetteville, at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 19, 2014.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Cape Fear Church of Christ, 3808 Village Drive, Fayetteville, NC 28304.
