Kenneth Lee Robinson, 74, went home yesterday.
He was survived by his wife, Judy Butler Robinson of 42 years, his daughters, Amy Robinson Elliott and Lisa Robinson Stancil, and his grandchildren, Phillip Derr, Savannah Elliott, Shaw Stancil and Grady Stancil.
He was the second to youngest of 10 children, born and raised in North Carolina. He spent four years sailing the world in the Navy before working his way through college at Wake Forest University. Ken was a resident of Fayetteville for 43 years and was active in his church, Sherwood Presbyterian.
Ken was a leader in his community, his church and his family. He was a wonderful storyteller and had a joke for every occasion. Ken loved watching and playing sports, especially his favorite team, Wake Forest, as well as watching his grandson Phillip play football. He was an avid golfer and took great joy in coaching Kiwanis baseball and football.
Known to his family âGrandpaâ he was actively involved in the lives of his wife, children and grandchildren. He was also loved his two dogs greatly, Lucky and Munchy. Ken was a mentor to many, a friend, a wonderful husband and father that will be missed every day.
A service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013, in Sherwood Presbyterian Church, 3857 NC Highway 87 South, Fayetteville, 28306.
