Mr. John R. DeCarter, 87, of Fayetteville, NC, passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Whispering Pines Nursing Home.
He was born on June 2, 1929, in Massachusetts. He was retired with the United States Army and the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department.
He is survived by a brother Bill DeCarter, of Florida; one son and one daughter; lifelong friend Connie McAllaster, of Fayetteville, NC.
The family will receive friends from 12:15 p.m. until 1:15p.m. on Tuesday, June 14, 2016, at Sullivan’s Highland Funeral Service. Funeral services will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Sullivan’s Highland Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park.
