Mr. James Rufus Patterson
Mr. James Rufus Patterson, 80, of Fayetteville, passed away on Friday, April 4, 2014.
He was born on February 2, 1934, in Summit Co, Ohio, to the late Harry Lee Patterson and Easter Couch Patterson.
He was a retired insurance agent with Nationwide Insurance with over 35 years of service. He was also a member of Snyder Memorial Baptist Church. Mr. Patterson currently attended Village Baptist Church. He was a mason with Adoniram-Joppa Lodge #0517 in Akron, OH.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Player Patterson.
He is survived by his fiancée Delores Hairr, of Fayetteville, NC; two daughters Marylee Patterson Greene, and husband David, of Irmo, SC and Laura Patterson Lawrence, and husband Tommy, of Asheboro, NC; two sons Carl Player Patterson, of Durham, NC and James "Jimmy" Raymond Patterson, and wife Betsy, of Cary, NC; five grandchildren Adam Greene, Anna Greene, Casey Lawrence, Jacob Lawrence, and Mary Patterson; two sisters Elean Jameson, of Ohio and Myrlee Bledsoe, of Florida; one brother Harry Lee "Pat" Patterson, Jr., of Ohio.
The family will receive friends on Monday, April 7, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Sullivan's Highland Funeral Service. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Lafayette Memorial Park with Dr. Bruce Martin officiating.
