James E. âTravisâ Bennett, 69, of Fayetteville, passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
He retired from Goodyear after 30 plus years of dedicated service. James loved riding his Harley with his brother, working in the yard, and spending time with his family.
He was born on December 26, 1945 in Scotland County to the late Mr. and Mrs. Harold and Laura Whitford.
James is survived by his wife, Brenda Bennett of Fayetteville; daughter, Crystal Lunceford and husband Dean of Rockingham; sons, Christopher Bennett and wife Alley of Linden, Travis Bennett and wife Lori of Hope Mills, and Chris Megill of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Nicholas Lunceford, Christy Bennett, Cody Bennett, Bradley Bennett, Peyton Bennett, Drayden Furith, Tyler Bennett, Gabby Bennett, Ethan Bennett, Sara Bennett, Conner Megill, Devin Megill; sister, Jennie Mae Maness of Linden; brother, Jesse Whitford and wife Wanda of Linden, numerous nieces and nephews; and his fur babies, Blade, Chico, and Popo.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 13, 2015, at Sullivanâs Highland Funeral service. A funeral service officiated by Pastor Glenn Lucas will follow at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel.
