He is survived by his sister, Phyllis Carnahan; brothers, John Armstrong, and William Armstrong; niece, Jennifer Finn; nephews, Curtis Armstrong, Evan Armstrong, Andrew Armstrong, and Austin Armstrong; and several great nieces and great nephews.
The family has planned a private ceremony.
