Harry Naughton, 69, of Gray’s Creek, passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2017, after a protracted battle with cancer, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on March 28, 1948, in Detroit, MI.
He leaves behind his son Paul Naughton and 2 grandchildren of Dearborn, MI; his brothers, Kevin Naughton of Gray’s Creek, NC and Charles Naughton of Detroit, MI; his sisters, Dorothy Narron of Gray’s Creek, Michalene Szymoniak of Gray’s Creek, Dawn Naughton of Wilmington.
He will be welcomed by his mother and father, Dorothy and Edward Naughton Sr., brothers, Edward (Tiny) Naughton Jr. and Bobby Naughton; sisters, Nora Cook, Mary Hudson, and Eva Jacobs. He is also leaving behind many nieces, nephews, and lots of cousins and friends.
Harry serviced in the U.S. Navy. He worked at L.P. Lumber of Leland, NC. In his free time he enjoyed reading, doing puzzles, and Nascar.
The family would like to give a special thank you to his niece, Deborah Barros for everything that she has done; all of the nurses and doctors on 8th south of Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, the doctors and nurses of Cape Fear Cancer Center. We would also like to give a huge thank you to his Healthkeepers hospice team, Ramona and Mary CNA, for their kind, caring, and passionate care and comfort.
The family will welcome friends from 12pm to 2pm, on Saturday, May 27, 2017, at Sullivan’s Funeral Service. A private family service will be conducted at a later date.
