Mr. George S. Crumbley, 88, of Fayetteville, passed away at his home on Tuesday, July 21, 2015.

Born May 7, 1927, on Ft. Bragg, he was the son of the late Fronz and Sarah Crumbley.  He is preceded in death by his wife, Dot Crumbley; brother's William Atchley, and Fred Crumbley, a sister Kathryn Crumbley.  He is survived by a brother Frank Crumbley, and a son, Jerome Crumbley.  

George graduated from Fayetteville High, served in the U.S. Navy, and worked for the Fayetteville Parks and Recreation Department for 40 years.  Of which, 16 years were served as the Athletic Director and 17 years as the Director of Senior Services.  In addition, he was actively involved in the officiating of basketball and softball games for several decades, in the area.  After retirement, he worked and spent the majority of his time at Highland Presbyterian church, or he could be found on a golf course.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 24,  2015 at Highland Presbyterian Church; a visitation will be held immediately following the services, in the church fellowship hall.
