Mr. Fredric "Fred" Earl English

Fredric E. English, 82, of Fayetteville, passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2015, in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

He was born on August 22, 1932 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Percy and Edna English in Aberdeen.
Fred was preceded in death by his wife of over 51 years, Gerry Gardner English; sister, Edith Carolyn English; and brother, Neill English.

He was a graduate of the North Carolina School for the Deaf in Morganton, NC, where he met the love of his life, Gerry.  He attended Gallaudet University.   Fred and Gerry were married August 6, 1961, at the First Baptist Church in Kinston, NC.  

After they got married they lived in Morganton, NC for one year prior to moving to Virginia.  In 1965 they returned to Raeford, NC where they raised their two daughters.

Fred is survived by his two daughters, Paula English McArthur and fiancé Jeff Burkett of Fayetteville, and Karen English and husband Steve Adair, of Raeford; six grandchildren Rachel, Seth, Peyton, Carson, Nicholas, and Andrea; four great-grandchildren Harlie, Hunter, Ruby, and Kevin; sister, Ellen Reich of Jacksonville, FL; brothers, Marvin English and wife Margaret of Morehead City, and Larry English and wife Linda of Fayetteville; sister-in-law, Frances English of Vienna, VA; and several nieces and nephews, and host of friends.

The family will receive friends prior to services from 9:45 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at Sullivan's Highland Funeral Service. A memorial service will be conducted by Rev. Larry Barnes at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at Sullivan's Highland Funeral Service.
