Mr. Charles "Charlie" Wayman Hall

Mr. Charles "Charlie" Wayman Hall, 92, passed away peacefully in his home on Friday April 3, 2015.  Charles enlisted in the Army November 1942 just after graduating from high school in Greensboro, NC. He served as a pilot in the US Army Air Force during WWII.  After the war, Charles joined Burlington Industries, where he worked as an Industrial Engineer until he retired in 1985. He joined Waverly Mills in Laurinburg, and continued his work until 1992.

Charles was preceded in death by his daughter Carolyn Willoughby, his parents Thomas & Bonnie Hall, brothers Thomas & Donald Hall, and sister Frances Baker.  

Charles is survived by his wife of 64 years, Alice Ewen Hall, daughter Linda and husband Danny Johnson of Fayetteville and daughters Kathryn of Raleigh and Mary Ellen of Fayetteville. Also, surviving him are his grandchildren Jennifer, Daniel, David and Brent, his great-grandchildren Alicen Grace and Daniel, Jr.

Charles was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend who was happiest when surrounded by those he cared about the most. He will be remembered as a true gentleman, who was devoted to family and friends and known for his patience, kindness and respect to all.  Charles will be missed by all that loved and knew him.  

A memorial service will be held on April 11, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Sullivan's Highland Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel in Fayetteville. The family will receive friends afterwards in their home.
