Mr. Cecil Randolph O'Brien
Mr. Cecil Randolph O’Brien, 80, died on Tuesday, February 02, 2016, after a short illness.
He was born in Harnett Co., NC and lived in Cumberland Co., since he was three years of age. He graduated from Pine Forest High School and served in the U.S. Air Force. He was employed for many years at Bobby Taylor Oil Company.
Cecil was the 3rd son of James Blaine and Florence Wilkerson O’Brien. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Blaine O’Brien, Jr., and a grandson, Kyle Patrick O’Brien.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Julia Godumski O’Brien of the home; sons, Cecil Jr. “Randy†of Virginia Beach, VA, Michael of Tampa, FL, Douglas and wife, Mia of Elizabeth City, NC; daughter, Karen and husband, Chris Keese of Fayetteville, NC; grandchildren, Matthew and Madison Keese, Andrew, Kevin, Alexandria, Nicholas, Ryan, and Rami O’Brien; brothers, Nelson, Patrick and wife, Kate, all of Fayetteville, NC; sister-in-law, Emily O’Brien of Fayetteville, NC; and several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends on Friday, February 5, 2016 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. A private graveside service will follow at Culbreth Family Cemetery, in Fayetteville.
Cecil was a loving husband, daddy, grandpa, brother, uncle, and friend to many. He will be remembered for his humor, infectious laugh, and willingness to help others. We will all miss him.
