Mr. Byron Lubie Suggs

Mr. Byron Lubie Suggs, 67, of the Cedar Creek Community, in Fayetteville, NC, passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2015, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, in Fayetteville, NC.

He was born on August 17, 1948, to the late George Lubie and Julia Horne Suggs. Byron was a lifelong resident of the Cedar Creek Community. He was also preceded in death by his brother Jake Suggs, a sister-in-law Debbie Suggs and one brother-in-law Carter Smith.

Byron was a lifelong member of Judson Baptist Church.  An avid antique tractor collector and restorer he was also a founding member of the South River Antique Tractor Club and a member of the Classic Antique Power Tractor Club.  Byron enjoyed farming, restoring carburetors and helping those in need.  Family meant the world to him and the recent addition of his twin granddaughters was one of the highlights of his life.  

He is survived by his loving wife of over 44 years Cathy Phillips Suggs, of the home; one daughter Michelle Suggs McLellan, and husband Cicero, of Stedman, NC; one son Hughie Suggs, and wife Shelly, of Fayetteville, NC; two granddaughters Catie Grace and Josie Mae Suggs; one sister Ursie Smith, of Fayetteville, NC; two brothers Maurice Suggs, and wife Virginia and Leonard Suggs, both of Fayetteville, NC; sister-in-law Kathryn Suggs, of Fayetteville, NC;  several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 at Sullivan’s Highland Funeral Service.  Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Judson Baptist Church with Rev. Eddie Brookshire officiating.  Burial will follow in Judson Baptist Church Cemetery.
