Mr. Alton Richard Chandler
Mr. Alton Richard Chandler, 67, of Eastover, NC, passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2016.
He was born on March 16, 1948, in Stanly County, NC to Alton Wade Chandler and Vera Howard Chandler.
He was preceded in death by his mother Vera Howard Chandler.
Richard was the owner and operator of Chandler’s Piano Service and taught piano for over 30 years. He held a Masters Degree in Piano Performance from UNCG. He was a member of Faith Wesleyan Church where he served as a pianist.
He is survived by his wife of over 42 years, Carolyn Sessoms Chandler, of the home; one daughter, Melissa Chandler Saunders, and husband, Jeffrey David Saunders, of Creedmoor, NC; three grandsons, Camden Riley Saunders, Dawson Jeffrey Saunders and Rowan Chandler Saunders, all of Creedmoor, NC; his father, Alton Wade Chandler, of Oakboro, NC; step-mother, Frances Rogers Chandler, of Concord, NC; two brothers, Rev. Wayne Chandler, of Fayetteville, NC and Gary Chandler, of Oakboro, NC; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends on Monday, February 22, 2016, at Sullivan’s Highland Funeral Service from 9:15 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. Funeral services will follow at 10:30 a.m. in Sullivan’s Highland Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Cynthia McClendon and Rev. Wayne Chandler officiating. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park.
