Mr. Adam Quinn Cromartie, 32, of Fayetteville, passed away Sunday, June 29, 2014, in Medical University of South Carolina, in Charleston, S.C.
Adam was born on June 11, 1982, in Cumberland County, to Peter McKellar Cromartie Jr. and Dorothy Quinn Cromartie.
Adam never complained about anything concerning his condition, no matter how bad he felt. He never met a stranger and every friend was his best friend. He fought cryptogenic cirrhosis of the liver courageously and passed peacefully with his family by his side.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Peter McKellar Cromartie Sr. and his maternal grandfather, Dr. Denis Fabian.
Adam is survived by his parents, Peter âMackâ McKellar Cromartie Jr. and Dorothy Quinn Cromartie of Charleston; a brother, Peter âMattâ McKellar Cromartie III, and his wife, Blair Anders Cromartie, of Murrellâs Inlet, S.C., and their daughter, McKellar Blair Cromartie; maternal grandmother, Marilyn Fabian Reaves; paternal grandmother, Harriett Salley Cromartie; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He is also survived by the love of his life, his red miniature dachshund, âFonzie.â
The family will receive friends tonight, July 2, 2014, from 6 to 8p.m. at Sullivanâs Highland Funeral Services and Crematory. The family will also receive friends on Thursday, July 3, 2014, from 10 a.m. until time of services in the parlor of First Presbyterian Church.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 3, 2014, in First Presbyterian Church sanctuary with Dr. John W. Coker Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Cross Creek Cemetery No. 3.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to First Presbyterian Church, 102 Ann St., Fayetteville, NC 28301; or to the Charleston Animal Society, 2455 Remount Road, North Charleston, SC 29406.
The family would like to thank Dr. Sapp of Vibra Hospital, Dr. David Hall of MUSC and the staff for all their many acts of kindness toward our son, Adam.
