Melvadell Bright Draughon

Melvadell Bright Draughon of Fayetteville, N.C passed away June 23, 2021 at Highland House Nursing Home in Fayetteville, NC.

She was born in Newville, WV on February 5, 1937, daughter of Okey E. Bright and Lela Dennison Bright.  She was preceded in death by one brother.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Draughon, one son, Desmond Draughon, one brother, Edmond Bright (Ann) of Fayetteville, NC, two nephews, one great nephew, one great niece, and two great, great, nephews.

She was a former member of the Newville Methodist Church, Newville, WV.  She served as a Sunday School teacher and sometimes the song leader.  She was a regular and faithful attendant of Northwood Temple Church in Fayetteville, NC.

Melvadell enjoyed old time country and gospel music.  She was a lover of all animals and birds.  She enjoyed reading, especially autobiographies.

The family will receive friends Saturday, June 26, 2021 from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Sullivan’s Highland Funeral Service, located at 610 Ramsey St., Fayetteville, NC.  Funeral service to follow in the chapel with Rev. John Hedgepeth officiating.  Burial will be in Lafayette Memorial Park, Fayetteville, NC on Monday, June 28 at 1:00 pm.
