Mary Louise Blackburn Gardner Wade, 91, of Fayetteville, NC passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2013. Mrs. Wade was born on October 20, 1921 in Wayne County, NC. She was the daughter of the late Homer Boyd Blackburn and Essie Parks Blackburn.
Mrs. Wade was a member of Hay Street United Methodist Church and a former office manager of Village Drive Medical Center.
She is preceded in death by her husbands, William C. Gardner and Donald H. Wade; a brother, Rev. Linwood E. Blackburn and wife Johnsie “Polly†Blackburn.
She is survived by her sister, Rosa Blackburn McDonald of Fayetteville, NC; two nieces, Jan Blackburn of Jupiter, FL and Claudia “Tootie†Griffin of Lewiston Woodville, NC; two nephews, Linwood “Lindy†E. Blackburn, Jr. of Parker, CO and William “Billy†E. Blackburn of Raleigh, NC; a step-son, Donald P. Wade of Vancouver, British Columbia.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Sullivan’s Highland Funeral Service. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Cross Creek Cemetery No. 3 with the Rev. David Harvin, officiating.
