FAYETTEVILLE - Mrs. Mary Alyce Holmes Fletcher Benkosky, of Fayetteville, was born June 29, 1922, to Myron M. Holmes Sr. and Elizabeth Guy, and was the widow of Tech. Sgt. Otto Fletcher Jr. and the widow of retired Lt. Col. Stephan W. Benkosky.
She died Aug. 10, 2012, in Carrol S. Roberson Hospice Center. She is survived by her son, Dr. Jeffrey Otto Fletcher and wife Wendy of Boone; grandson, James Otto Fletcher and wife Corina of Hickory, and great-granddaughters Abby Claire and Sydney Marie; half sisters, Catherine Holmes Lewis of Fayetteville and Phyllis Matthews of Wade; and half brother, Barney Holmes of Fayetteville. She was preceded in death by her half sister, Linda Arehart Smith of Hope Mills.
Mary was a member of Hay Street United Methodist Church in Fayetteville. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the employees of Carrol S. Roberson Hospice Center for their kindness and care provided to Mary during her stay.

A visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012, at Sullivan's Highland Funeral Service & Crematory, followed by a graveside service at the Main Post Cemetery on Fort Bragg.
