Marilyn Strickland Faircloth

Mrs. Marilyn Faircloth, 74, of Wade, North Carolina, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on the afternoon of September 10, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. The day of her passing she was celebrating her 56th wedding anniversary with her soul mate Perry.

She was born on January 24, 1943, in Cumberland Co., NC, to the late Isaac and Ola Pearl Strickland. She was a member of Northwood Temple. Marilyn spent most of her time in her flower garden. She loved shopping for antiques.

Tea parties with all of her granddaughters brought a lot of enjoyment to her life. Camping with her family at Kerr Lake was a fun part of their life.

She was known, for being one of the greatest cooks. She thought of so many others before herself, helping all of those in need.

She was greeted in heaven by her great-grandson Wells McRae Cain, and her brother Larry Strickland, along with her parents and numerous family members. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years Perry Faircloth of the home; three children Lisa Cain, Jenny Faircloth and Bill Faircloth and his wife, Jessica; four grandchildren Jordan Cain, Aaron Cain and his wife, Natalie, Hailey Faircloth and Madison Faircloth; two great-grandchildren Olivia Joy Cain and Reese Ryan Cain; and their dog Pebbles.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 17, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. until time of services at Northwood Temple.

A memorial service will follow at 4:00 p.m. at Northwood Temple Church with Dr. John Hedgepeth and Rev. Larry Autry officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that all flowers be those that can be planted in her flower garden.

The family would like to especially thank 3HC Hospice and a special family friend Betty Fraley Tuohy for all the wonderful care provided to our “MawMaw”.
