Marie Phillips Monroe
Mrs. Marie Phillips Monroe, 94, formerly of 201 Hinsdale Avenue in Fayetteville, NC, passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2013, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
She was born on November 26, 1918, in Cumberland County, NC to the late Ennis Phillips and Elizabeth Herring Phillips.
She was preceded in death in addition to her parents was her husband “Buck†N.A. Monroe Sr. and a daughter Sandra Monroe Cannon.
She is survived by a son Neill A. Monroe, Jr., and wife Sharon, of Fayetteville, NC; three grandchildren Harley Cannon, Kristy Cannon, and Sandie Monroe; three great-grandchildren Morgan Cannon , Madison Cannon, and Samantha Monroe.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 24, 2013, at Cross Creek Cemetery #4 with Rev. Archie Barringer officiating. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the graveside services.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Falcons Children’s Home P.O. Box 39, Falcon, North Carolina, 28342.
