Mrs. Margaret Houchins Berge, 87, of Fayetteville, passed away on Friday, March 8, 2013, at Autumn Care, of Fayetteville.
She was born on June 28, 1925, in Mercer County, West Virginia, to the late Clinton Houchins and Laura Allen Houchins.
Margaret was a retired elementary school teacher and a former Mathematics Department Supervisor with Miami-Dade County Schools in Miami, Florida. She was the co-author of a series of Mathematic text books which were used by the Miami-Dade County School System.
She was preceded in death by her husband's Ray McKinney and Adolph Berge; and one daughter Carol Frankum.
She is survived by four daughters Sharon Oppelt and husband David, Joanne Naumer and husband Ron, Mary A. Gross and husband Val and Blanche Taylor, and husband Wayne; two sons Kenneth Berge and wife Lindsey and Tom McKinney, and one brother Rufus Houchins and wife Helen; numerous grand-children, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
The family will have private services here in Fayetteville.
Graveside services will be held at Wayside Methodist Church Cemetery, in Wayside ,West Virginia.
Services entrusted to Sullivan's Highland Funeral Service and Crematory, of Fayetteville, NC.
