Emblem

Retired US Army Master Sgt. Lowell Yates Wall went home to be with his Lord on January 13, 2024.  He was born in Clayton, NC on September 29, 1943 to the late Josiah Milton and Jesmon Johnson Wall.  He joined the United States Army in September 1961.  He married Brenda Creech Wall on June 11, 1967.  He served two tours in Vietnam.  He was stationed in Germany and Hawaii before returning to Fort Bragg in 1975.  During his duty at Fort Bragg he served as a 42 Alpha (Human Resources Specialist).  He retired from the United States Army in 1984.  He then returned to Fayetteville Technical Community College where he earned two Associates Degrees.  Lowell entered the workforce with Sullivan Wholesale Distributors where he was the Senior Purchasing Agent for over ten years.  Lowell then became Mr. Mom, while Brenda entered the workforce.

Lowell’s family was his first priority and took pride in his girls and his grandchildren.  You would often find him in his front yard making sure it was never full of pine cones or pine straw as he waved to everyone as they passed on the street.  Lowell enjoyed his time hunting and fishing.  You would often find him with a cane pole in hand.  Upon the birth of the grandchildren he would be found at school and sporting events, always there to cheer them on.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Sue, his three daughters, Stephanie Wall Powell and husband Curt, Pamela Sue Ruiz and husband Larry, and Amy Wall Stroman and husband Cedric.  He is a proud Papa to Alana, Sophia, Caroline, Javier, and Tiana.  His love of people extended to so many more children and grandchildren.  He is survived by sisters, Jake Camilla Bright, Patsy Wall Knott and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by siblings, Sally Sue Wall, Liberty Boy Wall, and Delores Humphrey.

The family will celebrate Lowell’s life on Saturday, January 20 at 2:00 p.m. at Sullivan’s Highland Chapel with full Military Honors to follow.

Lowell’s family will receive friends at Sullivan’s Highland on Friday, January 19 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
