Lonny Jones

Retired US Army 1SG Lonny Hugh Jones, a devoted family man and dedicated military service member, passed away on March 29, 2025, at the age of 55. Born on October 30, 1969, in Harlingen, Texas, Lonny’s journey through life was marked by his unwavering commitment to those he loved and the community he served.

Lonny graduated from high school in 1988 in Chino, California. His sense of duty led him to join the United States Army in February 1995, where he served honorably until his retirement in June 2015 as a First Sergeant. Throughout his military career, Lonny exemplified leadership and service, characteristics that also defined his time in civilian life.

A passionate and engaging individual, Lonny found joy in various hobbies, including off-roading, fishing, and playing Texas hold-em poker. He had a particular fondness for watching Sci-Fi movies, biking, and camping, often sharing these experiences with family and friends. Lonny's affinity for the outdoors and adventure reflected his vibrant personality.

Lonny cherished his family above all else. He is survived by his beloved wife, Joann Jones; their children, daughter Shandra Sisk and her husband Tray, and son Lonny Evan Jones. He was a proud grandfather to Melissia Sisk, Lilly Jones, Skylar Sisk, and Abbey Jones; their laughter and smiles were a source of happiness for him. Lonny also leaves behind his mother, Carrie E. Lane, and three brothers, Sandy Jones, Chris Jones, and Mark Jones.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Wade Jones.
