Lloyd Donald Harvey

Lloyd Donny Harvey, 74, of Cary, NC, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2018, at Transitions Life Care Hospice Home in Raleigh, NC, with his family at his side.

He was born on February 2, 1944 in Sarver, Pennsylvania to the late Theodore and Bernice Harvey.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran receiving numerous medals and commendations.  He retired from the Army National Guard.  Lloyd was the first Chaplains assistant, for the North Carolina State National Guard. 

He is survived by his loving wife of over 47 years Elizabeth S. Harvey, of the home; two sons Donny Harvey and wife Amy, of Taylors, SC and Daniel Harvey and fiancée Kirstie Linza, of Raleigh, NC; three brothers Theodore Harvey, of Saxonburg, PA, Willard Harvey, of Chiora, PA, and Blair Harvey, of Cabot, PA; and one sister Arlene Clippard, of Hickory, NC; three grandchildren Corey, Amber, and Reilly; and three great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends at Sullivan’s Highland Funeral Service from 11:45 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. Thursday, February 22, 2018, prior to services.  Funeral Services will follow at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 22, 2018 in Sullivan’s Highland Funeral Service Chapel.  Burial will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park with the rendering of military honors.

Flowers are acceptable or memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
