Linda Ellen Towler,65, of Fayetteville, NC  passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2013. Ms. Towler
was born on June 9, 1947 in Charlotte, NC. She graduated from  East Mecklenburg High School in 1965 and Campbell University in Buies Creek, NC in 1969. She also received her master’s degree from Fayetteville State University and was a member of Mensa International.
She taught at Anne Chestnutt Jr. High, Westover Jr.and Senior Highs and Seventy-First High School in Fayetteville. They referred to her as “Ms. T” as she assisted many students in journalism and as their newspaper advisor.
She was passionate about her “Red Hat Ladies” and assisted with starting the BBB Chapter. She brought the Red Hat State Convention to Fayetteville in 2006.
Linda was a world traveler enjoying many foreign countries and writing about her travels.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Mae Nelson Towler and Robert Walker Towler.
She is survived by Vera T. Smith, Mary “Pokey” Tancred and daughter, Emily, James Tancred and wife Tammie, and many other cousins.
A memorial service will be at Sullivan’s Highland Funeral Service on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 11:00 a.m.
