Linda Holland Hair passed away peacefully surrounded by family in her home in Fayetteville, North Carolina on July 9, 2021. Linda will be greatly missed by her family and friends that loved her so much.
Linda was born on September 21, 1952 to the late Samuel E. and Thelma H. Holland. Much of her childhood was spent in Virginia. The family would later move to North Carolina.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents and husband, the Honorable Lacy Hair. She is survived by brother, Larry Holland (Joan), sister, Constance English, niece Lisa Suzanne Denton, niece Samantha Parrish (Ryan), great-nephew, Tanner and great-niece, Blakely. She also leaves behind her beloved fur-baby Reagan that brought her so much joy and happiness.
Linda was a champion to so many in her life. She never failed to step up and assist anyone in need, whether she personally knew them or not. Her strength and determination allowed her to help many people. Linda was a dedicated member of the Altrusa Club. She volunteered as a Guardian Ad Litem for many years, advocating to change and protect the lives of so many abused and neglected children. Linda also served on the Mental Health Board and did extraordinary things to fight for the rights of people that suffered from mental health issues. Her dedication to volunteerism in her community was an inspiration.
Linda’s decorating talent was often requested by family members and friends. Shown a blank slate, she could create a masterpiece. Floral arrangements and wreaths were one of her specialties. No two arrangements were ever the same. Clothing and accessories were no challenge to her either. Her style was classic and she loved to help others show off their personal styles as well.
One of Linda’s great loves was traveling. Whether it was to the majestic mountains or the sandy beaches, a Christmas Disney Cruise or to visit family near and far.
Our lives have been changed forever by the loss of this beautiful spirit. Her memory will serve as a blanket to comfort us. She made us believe that anything was possible. We know that she is rejoicing with the angels and loved ones in her Heavenly Home and we look forward to the day that we will see her again.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Carroll Memorial Baptist Church, followed by a visitation after the service.
