Katherine "Kitty" Davis

Katherine “Kitty” Davis

Our beloved mother, Mimi, and friend, went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 18, 2021. She passed at home with her daughter by her side and surrounded by loved ones. Kitty’s strength and determination served her well as she continued to fight for healing despite her failing health. She was able to enjoy time with her family and friends, until the very end, before she went “home”.

Kitty served her community as a loving and gifted teacher in a variety of positions over thirty plus years. She was a faithful member of Haymount United Methodist Church for decades, where she served on various committees and blessed all of those who knew her.  She enjoyed spending time with her friends in her bridge and Tea and Topics book clubs. Kitty was never still, always on the go, with a purpose of bringing joy to others by taking treats or gifts and visiting with friends.

Kitty was born on October 17, 1930 in Fayetteville, to the late William Haigh Owen Jr and Ethel H. Owen. She was preceded in death by her husband John F. Davis, brother Bill Owen, sister Ethel H Kyle, and stepson Patrick Davis.  She is survived by her daughter Nancy Karaman and husband Michael of Fayetteville, granddaughters Rachel Karaman and Elise Morales and husband Michael, and great-granddaughter Elle Morales, and stepson Richard Davis and wife Melissa, and the family of Patrick Davis.

The family would like to thank Kitty’s personal caregivers and HealthKeeperz Hospice staff who afforded her the ability to remain at home during her final days.

The family will receive friends from 4-6 Sunday, May 23rd at Sullivan’s Highland Funeral Service in Fayetteville.  Funeral services will be held at Haymount United Methodist Church on Monday, May 24th at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Camp Ground United Methodist Church.

Flowers are welcomed by the family or memorials may be made out to Haymount United Methodist Church, 1700 Ft. Bragg Rd, Fayetteville, NC 28303 or The Care Clinic, 239 Robeson St, Fayetteville, NC, 28301.
