Judy Carol Roman, 69, of Raeford went home to Jesus on October 3, 2024.
She was born on September 1, 1955, in Fayetteville, NC to the late Wade Franklin and Emma Gertrude Moore. Also preceding her in death is her brother, Robert Moore.
Judy began singing as a young child and continued her love of music in her church choirs up to 2003. She was a member of Praise Fellowship Church of God. She often educated her children and grandchildren through car ride karaoke on what great music was. She loved all kinds of music. If she was not singing, you would find her building her impressive shoe collection. Every time you would see her, she had on a new pair, and it was always a deal. Never full price! She survived breast cancer in 2003, and she later fought 2 other cancers. Judy was a fighter! She created a safe space for all who needed it. She provided a mother’s unconditional love for all who entered her home. She enjoyed cook outs, spending time with her friends and family, reminiscing and celebrating all of life's events.
Left to cherish Judy’s memory is her husband of 42 years, James Roman; children, Tammy Shirley (Gene), Danny Davis (Shannon), Tommy Roman, Christopher Roman, and Mark Roman; grandchildren, Sabrina Shirley, Madison, Macie, and Eli Davis, Levi Roman, Gabriel Torres, Channing King, Lawson Roman, and Emersyn Butler; siblings, Sylvia Brown, Brenda Jones, Jerry Moore, Tommy Moore, Carolyn Hartsock, and Kathy Faircloth; as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive visitors at 1:00pm, October 11, 2024, at Praise Fellowship Church of God. A funeral service will follow at 2:00pm. The burial will be at a later date at 12pm on October 18, 2024, at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery.
