FAYETTEVILLE - Retired Army Sgt. 1st Class Joseph Francis Parrick, 81, of 910 Odom Drive, died Friday, June 24, 2011, in his home.
Graveside services with military honors will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 30, 2011, in Lafayette Memorial Park West on Raeford Road. Mr. Parrick was in the Army for 24 years, and served in Korea and Vietnam. He was a Bronze Star recipient.
He was a graduate of St. John's Evangelist Catholic School and of Fayetteville Technical Community College. He was a member of the DAV, the American Legion and the VFW, and was retired from civil service.
Survivors include his wife, Eiko Elizabeth Parrick of Fayetteville; three sons, George F. Parrick of Willow Springs, Leonard J. Parrick and wife Carrie of Fuquay-Varina and Joseph C. Parrick Jr. of Fayetteville; a brother, George W. Parrick of Pittston, Pa.; four sisters, Deloris Karsko of Tom's River, N.J., Peggy Mikluschak of Duraya, Pa., Mary Pietruszewski of Pittston and Shirley Krakowski of Florida; and two grandchildren, Ashton and Aiden.
