John Edward Voter

Retired US Army CSM John Edward Voter, 97, of Ft. Bragg, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 27, 2023, at Autumn Care of Raeford.

John was an honorable man that served his country for 30 years.  He was a wonderful father and husband, and he was dearly loved.  He was his family’s hero.

John is survived by his wife of 70 years, Marcella Voter; three children, John Edward Voter, III. and wife Janice, of Fayetteville, Cynthia Voter Smith of Fayetteville, and Tina Voter Cleary and husband Jeffrey, of Raeford; six grandchildren, Ashley Voter, Lindsey Cleary-Corriston, Paul Smith Jr., Jeffrey Cleary Jr., Michael Cleary, and John Edward Voter IV.; two great grandchildren, Devyn Cleary and Jeffrey Cleary III; a sister, Mary Devine of Wisconsin, and two brothers, Wayne Voter of Georgia and Lanny Voter of Wisconsin.

The family will be holding a private service.
