Joe Anne Remer age 74 passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 10th at Southeastern Regional Hospital in Lumberton, NC.
Joe Anne was born in Illinois on October 22, 1946.
She is preceded in death by her mother Blanche Hill, father Chris Hendricks, and sister- Dora Marie.
Joe Anne moved to Fayetteville, NC in 1975 with her husband who was stationed at Ft. Bragg, NC, and stayed in the area to be close to her children. Joe Anne worked at Highland House for 25 years then moved to Village Green to finish out her work years. Once she retired she became more active in church activities at Village Baptist Church, learned how to knit, and spent time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband James E Remer Sr of the home, her daughter Jamie Cleary of Fayetteville, Jerald Remer of Fayetteville, and James E. Remer Jr. and wife Windy of Fayetteville, NC. Joe Anne loved her children and cherished the time she spent with them. She also is survived by Brothers John Hendricks Sr. and wife Denise of Fayetteville, Chris Hendricks of Illinois, and a sister Susie Coffman of Florida. Joe Anne also has 9 grandchildren whom she adored and loved unconditionally. Dustin James Remer, Christopher Allen Remer, Tabatha Remer Bush, Joshua Remer, Trisha Fincher, Cameron Cleary, Dawson Cleary, Matthew Remer, and Samantha Remer. She also has 5 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by nieces and nephews whom she loved as her own and loved to spend time with during holidays and special events.
Joe Anne was a very active volunteer and worker at Village Baptist Church with the youth ministry and preschool area. She loved volunteering and taking care of the young ones during Sunday services. She loved and cared for all of those that she worked with and those that attended her Sunday School Class.
A memorial service will be held on November 29, 2020, at 2 pm at Village Baptist Church.
Visitation with the family will be from 1-2 pm at the church. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory can be made to Village Baptist Church 906S McPherson Church Rd. 28303.
