Mrs. Jo-Anne Britt, 85, of Fayetteville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, July 26, 2021.
Jo-Anne’s life was filled with her faith, family, and friends. She had a love for missions both home and foreign. Her works included local missions and several trips to Africa and Kwajalein Atoll (part of the Republic of the Marshall Islands). Jo-Anne spent time in her bible studies daily and instilled this value in her family. Her greatest advice to family was to make everything no matter how small an adventure. Her loving spirit brought laughter to all who spent time with her. Jo-Anne had many good friends with whom she spends many fun filled hours. Jo-Anne was a school teacher, counselor, administrator and didn’t truly retire until 80. She will be missed by all who knew her.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 31, 2021, at 12 noon at First Baptist Church, Anderson and Old Street, with Rev. Rob James presiding. A private, family burial will follow.
Jo-Anne was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Britt, Jr.
She is survived by her daughter, Marsha Tyson and husband Tony of Fayetteville; two grandchildren, Adam Tyson and wife Lindsay of Fayetteville and Coleman Morge and husband James of Fayetteville; sister, Carol Barber and husband Ralph of Swansboro; nephews, Gregory Barber and Jonathan Barber; a great nephew, Gus Barber; and brother-in-law, Robert Britt.
The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday, from 10:30 am until 11:45 am in Memorial Lounge at the First Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the missions program at First Baptist Church, 201 Anderson St., Fayetteville, NC 28301.
