Jean Keeter Ingold Shore, of Fayetteville, passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2022.
She was born in Fayetteville to the late Charles Lee Ingold and Lucy Keeter Ingold. She was preceded in death by her husband, W. Reece Shore, Jr.
She is a graduate of Fayetteville High School. After high school she attended Flora MacDonald College and Greensboro College where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. Over her 35 plus year career, she helped mold the minds of many students at numerous schools on Fort Bragg. As a result of her life-long love of gardening, she earned her Master Gardner Certification later in life.
Jean was a lifetime member of Hay Street United Methodist Church where she served on several committees. She had a love of animals and was adopted by many pets in the neighborhood, whether they belonged to her or not.
Left to cherish Jean’s memory is her daughter, Mary Keeter Shore Nichols and husband Parrish of Kernersville; and grandchildren, Jimmy and Jordan Nichols.
The family will welcome friends from 5 to 7pm on Friday, February 4, 2022, at Sullivan’s Highland Funeral Service. Her funeral will be at 9:30am on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Hay Street United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hay Street United Methodist Church at 320 Hay Street, Fayetteville, NC 28301.
Services are entrusted to Sullivan’s Highland Funeral Service & Crematory.
