Janie Vaughn King

Janie Vaughn King, 86, of Fayetteville, passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2023, at the Golden Years Nursing Home in Falcon.

Janie was born September 15, 1936 in Hamlet, NC, to the late Edward M. Vaughn, Sr. and Ruth Leila Dickson Vaughn.  She worked in real estate sales for over 48 years and was a member of the Million Dollar Sales Club.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2023, at 2 pm at Sullivan's Highland Chapel.  The family will receive friends following the service.

Janie is survived by her brother, Edward M. Vaughn, Jr.; son, John Ploeger; daughter, Ruth Ploeger; five grandchildren, Alyssa, Suzanne, Laura, Emma, and Joshua; and four great grandchildren, Jason, Cameron, Cara, and Atticus.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Malcolm King; brother, John Vaughn; sister, Ann Crummie, and great grandchild, Mae Russell.
