James Robert Lanier
FAYETTEVILLE - Retired Army Master Sgt. James Robert Lanier, 81, of 520 Carteret Place, died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012, in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012, in Cumberland Memorial Gardens with military honors. Mr. Lanier was born in Petersburg, Va.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Misako; and his brother, Donald Lanier. He is survived by a daughter, Betty Lanier of Raleigh; a son, Bruce Lanier and wife Margaret of Browns Summit; two sisters, Shirley Reese of Columbia, S.C., and Betty Dortch of Litchfield Beach, S.C.; and companion, Marianne Moore of Fayetteville.
Services entrusted to Sullivan's Highland Funeral Service & Crematory of Fayetteville.
