Irene Zimmerman Adams

Irene Zimmerman Adams, age 83, passed away peacefully at Womack Army Hospital on May 14th surrounded by her family.

She was born and raised in Germany. She attended business college prior to falling in love and marrying an American soldier named Ronald Adams. He swept her off her feet and brought her to the United States.

After numerous military moves they settled in Fayetteville. She spent most of her career at Paris & Potter Management Corp where she continued to work long past retirement age.

Irene was an active member at Trinity United Methodist Church. She sang in the choir, served as treasurer and sat on several committees. She loved her church family and volunteered wherever there was a need.

Most of all she loved her family. You could find her every Sunday afternoon out in the back yard with her boys and her grandchildren eating pizza and watching football, racing or whatever the season brought.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years Ronald Adams. Two sons , Michael Adams (Shirley) and Gary Adams (Cil). Three grandchildren, Kayla Paschal (Unique), Davis Adams and Dylan Adams. One great grandchild Ellanese Paschal.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday May 19th, 12 Noon, at Trinity United Methodist Church ( 6974 Raeford Road Fayetteville, NC 28304). The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church in her memory.
