Ines C. Johnson

Ines C. Johnson, 79 years of age, passed away on Wednesday, Jan 11, 2023.

Ines was born on December 8, 1943 in Innsbruck, Austria to the late Dr. Alexander Colins de Tarsienne and Marie Schmid Colins de Tarsienne.

Ines is survived by her husband, Judge E. Lynn Johnson; her son, Patrick Johnson; daughter-in-law, Kelly Johnson; their children, Katherine(25), Philip(23), Charlie(20), James(18), and Virginia(14); her daughter, Tanya Hogsett; her husband Russell Hogsett; their children, Alexander(20) and Samantha(17); brother, Elmar Colins de Tarsienne; sister-in-law, Christine Colins de Tarsienne; their children, Aimee and Mirjam, Vienna, Austria; brother-in-law, Heinrich Schweizer, Kitzbühel, Austria. Ines’ sister, Verena Schweizer, predeceased her.

Ines had an adventurous spirit.  Growing up in Tyrol, Austria, she enjoyed hiking, ice skating, and skiing. That same adventurous spirit led her to become a flight attendant with Pan Am Airways, traveling the world.  While working for Pan Am and stationed in New York City, she met a young FBI agent, Lynn Johnson, married soon after, and started a beautiful family in Fayetteville, NC.  Ines had a passion for cooking and entertaining.  She was happy to prepare your favorite meal but was excited to experiment and try new recipes.   She had an appreciation for paintings, sculptures, dance and music.  Her home is filled with unique artwork and clocks.  In her younger days, she enjoyed playing tennis and had a love-hate relationship with golf.  Ines maintained life-long close relationships with her friends and family.  Family was very important to her, and we spent most summers in Austria.  She had a way of making everyone feel special and never wanted attention to herself.  She was lovingly called Omi by her grandchildren.
