Hilda Faircloth Utley

Hilda Faircloth Utley, 79, of Eastover, passed away on September 11, 2024.

She was born in Bladen County on June 14, 1945, to the late Junious Gordon Faircloth and Dorothy Isabel Tatum. Also preceding her in death was her husband of 51 years, Phil Thomas Utley; and siblings, Michael Tatum, Alrita Faircloth Smith and husband Curtis Hoover Smith, Earl Faircloth and wife Juanita Faircloth.

Hilda was the Assistant Clerk of Court for 33 years in Cumberland County. She was a devoted and wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend who will be missed dearly.

A graveside service is scheduled for 11am on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Salem Methodist Church Cemetery. The service will be officiated by her niece, Carla Woolard and Pastor Todd Brady. The family will welcome friends at Hilda’s house following the service.

Left to cherish Hilda’s memory is her son, Christopher Dane Utley and wife, Kimberly; grandchildren, Kaitlynn Utley, Colton Utley; great grandson, Gary Steven Jacobs; nieces, Carla Woolard and her son, Jeffrey; Robin Tatum, Angie Tatum, Gordon Faircloth, and Wayne Faircloth; brother-in-law, William Lee Utley; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Waller, and husband Freddy, Barbara Tatum; along with her extended family and friends.
