Joan Schoonover Parent was born April 11, 1921 and passed away peacefully on December 26, 2011 at age 90.
She was the daughter of Helen W. And Thomas R. Schoonover, of Lima, Ohio and married to Norman A. Amstutz and later William Parent. She had 5 children, Helen Christine Amstutz Zachary, George Gibson Amstutz, Edward Gregory Amstutz, Anna Charlotte Amstutz Kirk, and Carolyn Maxine Amstutz Grebenstein.
Joan Parent was a member of Shawnee Country Club, The Delphian Club and Christ Episcopal Church in Lima. Later she resided in various places including Pinehurst, North Carolina, Atlanta, Franklin, NY and finally retired to Fayetteville, NC. She was an enthusiastic golfer and excellent needleworker. She had many talents. Her humor and distinctive personality will not be forgotten.
