Helen Allene Fish

On Friday, November 20, 2020, Helen Allene Bowden Fish, loving mother and grandmother, passed away at the age of 86.

Helen was born on March 14, 1934 in Erwin, NC to Walter and Maggie Bowden. She was a lifelong resident of Linden, NC.

Helen was a loving mother and grandmother, who always provided support and love for her family. Nothing made her happier than when visitors stopped by to chat and have a glass of sweet tea. Helen had a love for dogs and there was always one by her side. She enjoyed cooking and anyone would consider her cornbread and pastry a treat. Helen was known for her quick wit, her infectious smile, and her kind and compassionate spirit.

Helen is survived by her five children, Diane Lowenstein, Walter Lee Hair and wife Nancy, Sherry Fish, Jerry Hair, Shirley Page and husband John, 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on November 24, 2020 at 11:00am, at Sullivan’s Highland Funeral Service and Crematory, Inc.

The burial will be immediately following at Hair’s Chapel Free Will Holiness Church Cemetery, Linden, NC.
