Harvey Wright Raynor, III “Butch” passed away on Monday May 3, 2021 at his residence.

Butch was born on September 14, 1950 to Harvey W. Raynor, Jr. and Jewel Raynor Geesin.  He attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and then went to North Carolina Central University where he received his law degree.

Butch lived in Belhaven, NC for 25 years.  Where he raised his family and practiced law.  He later moved to Fayetteville, NC where he served as assistant Cumberland County Attorney for 7 years, before moving into private practice.

Butch is proceeded in death by his father, Harvey W. Raynor, Jr. and his stepfather, Charles F. Geesin.  He is survived by his mother, Jewel Geesin, brothers Mark (wife, Linda) and Matthew (wife, Conny) Raynor, his current wife Liz Varnedoe, his first wife, Misa B. Raynor, and their children, son, Tolan Raynor (wife Roxanne) and daughter, Kelly McGrath (husband Matt) and six grandchildren, Thomas, Misa, Carson, Connor, Nixon, and Gavin.

He loved spending time with his friends and family, watching UNC Basketball, and pretending to play golf.

The family appreciates all the love and support that has been shown during this difficult time.  We will be having a celebration of life for Butch on Friday, May 7, 2021 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at 208 Hillside Avenue, Fayetteville, NC 28301.
