Mrs. Geraldine "Gerry" Gardner English, 72, of Fayetteville, passed away on, Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at Highland House, in Fayetteville.
She was born on April 7, 1940, in Kinston, NC to the late John Jay Gardner and Pauline Reynolds Gardner.
She was a 1960 graduate of the North Carolina School For the Deaf in Morganton, NC where she met husband Fred. Fred and Gerry were married August 6, 1961, at the First Baptist Church in Kinston, NC.
After they got married they lived in Morganton, NC for one year prior to moving to Virginia. In 1965 they returned to Raeford, NC where they raised their two daughters.
Gerry devoted most of her life as a homemaker caring for her family putting everyone's needs before her own.
Gerry is survived by her loving husband of over 51 years Fred E. English, of Fayetteville, NC; two special daughters Paula English McArthur, and fiancée Jeff Burkett of Fayetteville, NC and Karen English, and husband Steve Adair, of Raeford NC; six grandchildren Rachel, Seth, Peyton, Carson, Nicholas, and Andrea; four great-grandchildren Harley, Hunter, Ruby, and Kevin; two sisters Tommie Duffie, of Sacramento, CA and Carolyn Brinkley, of Burlington, NC; one brother Cal Gardner, of Richmond, Virginia; several nieces and nephews, and host of friends.
The family will receive friends at Sullivan's Highland Funeral Service on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 from 9:45a.m. until 10:45 a.m. prior to services.
Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at Sullivan's Highland Funeral Service with Rev. Larry Barnes officiating.
